This week on the Nonprofit Jenni Show, we chat with Jess Campbell from Out in the Boons about how to find new donors for your nonprofit.
How to Find New Nonprofit Donors
Jess, a fundraising consultant and coach, comes on my podcast to share five ways that nonprofits can find new donors:
Look Inside Your Current Community – Upgrade a current donor or ask someone in your community for an introduction.
The “Inside Out” Method – Start with your strongest, closest supporters (like your board) and ask them to brainstorm connections they have who are already passionate about your cause.
Make the First Move – Send a thoughtful, genuine message to influential people in your cause area to begin a meaningful relationship.
Plant the Seed – Ask to meet with people who are passionate about your cause and spend the majority of your meeting just listening to them tell their story. At the very end of the meeting, plant the seed by sharing a little bit about your organization.
Build a “Dream 100” List – Think about where your donors are hanging out online and in person, and go spend time in 100 of those places.
