FAQs About the Survey
Why are you asking such personal questions?
In the survey, we’ll ask for your full name, email address, and whether you identify as a member of certain historically marginalized groups:
We’re asking for everyone’s name and email address in case we need to verify that someone is who they say they are to protect the integrity of the survey results.
Also, we’ll use the email address you provide to send you the survey results.
We’re asking about the groups you’re a part of because we want to understand how different communities seek, find, and get access to professional development in the nonprofit sector. There is already plenty of evidence that historically marginalized groups are underrepresented in nonprofit leadership and have less access to certain resources; we’d like to better understand where these gaps exist so we can continue advancing equity in the sector.
Who can access my personal, identifying information?
No one outside the Nonprofit Jenni organization can access your personal, identifying information.
We will not share your name or email address with any third parties. Your other survey responses will only be shared as part of aggregated data.
For example, the survey asks which historically marginalized groups you identify with. We will share the overall percentage of survey respondents who identify with each group, but we will not share the names or email addresses of individuals who identify with these groups.
Will my email address be added to a marketing list?
The survey asks for your email preference. If you select “Please email me ONCE PER WEEK with free marketing and fundraising resources.”, we’ll add you to the Nonprofit Jenni marketing list. Otherwise, you will not be added to a marketing list.
